Best airline rewards credit cards in India: A review

Airline Rewards:
The Jet Airways Citibank Platinum Card offers 4 JP Miles for every Rs.100 spent. This Visa credit card offers 3000 JP miles on booking and 4000 JP miles on renewal. An internationally valid complimentary upgrade voucher is offered to cardholders on accrual of every 8000 JP Miles. Two vouchers offering 50% Family Discount on booking and on renewal are offered every year. In addition to the above benefits a complimentary access to Première lounges only on domestic Jet Airways network is also offered with the Jet Airways Citibank Platinum Card. The credit card offers an excess baggage allowance of 15 kg.

Citibank also offers Gold and Silver cards co-branded with Jet Airways in addition to this Platinum card. These two credit cards offer a reward of 2 JP Miles for every Rs.100 spent.

Interest rate and Fees:
In the first 6 months of card issuance the interest rate is fixed at 3.19 percent (monthly) or 38.28 percent (annually). This interest rate can vary depending on how the cardholder utilizes his credit limits and repayment track record. In case of defaulting the minimum amount to be paid for a month, a maximum penalty rate of 3.5 percent (monthly) or 42 percent (annually) can be levied. The joining fee for this credit card is Rs.2,000 which takes care of the first year's annual fee which otherwise for renewal is Rs 2,500 per annum.
