Air Deccan

Airline rewards:
ICICI Bank offers a gold credit card called the ICICI Bank Air Deccan Gold card, which offers a reward program specially for Air Deccan flyers. This credit card has a Smart Reward Points option, which enables the card holder to earn 3 reward points on every Rs.100 spent on the credit card. These reward points can be converted into air miles.

The Smart Pay option available with this credit card allows the cardholder to pay for air tickets in EMIs at an attractive interest rate of 4 percent flat for six months tenure or 8 percent flat for 12 months tenure. This credit card also offers an insurance cover against fraudulent transactions on purchase of air tickets at the airline's website www.airdeccan.net.

Interest rates and Fees:
The ICICI Bank Air Deccan Gold Card has an interest rate of 3.15 percent per month

Other Cards

There are various other cards which offer discounts on air booking though they do not have tie-ups with specific airlines, instead online booking sites. Cleartrip and HDFC have tied up to give upto 50% cashback on air bookings.  All you have to do is just book roundtrip flights for at least 2 people (or one-way flights for at least 4) in a single booking at Cleartrip.com using your HDFC Bank Credit Card to get upto 50% Cash back.

HDFC Bank Visa Signature, World MasterCard, Platinum Plus, Titanium and Gold Credit Cardholders get 50% Cash back on the base fare up to a maximum of Rs. 3,500.

HDFC Bank Silver International, Value Plus, HealthPlus or Idea Silver Credit Cardholders get 30% Cash back on the base fare up to a maximum of Rs. 3,500.

ICICI bank has tied up with Ezeego1.com to offer cashback of up to 50% on air bookings to its credit card holders.

* 50% cash back on Platinum, Signature and Titanium Credit Cards
* 25% cashback on Gold Credit Cards
* 15% cash back on Silver and other Credit Cards

This Cash Back offer is valid for Domestic Air Tickets booked on Jet Airways, IndiGo, JetLite (formerly known as Air Sahara) and Indian on all booking classes using your ICICI Bank Master / Visa / Amex Credit Card through Ezeego One Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd

Other credit cards like the Yatra BarclayCard, ABN AMRO 'GO' Card in association with Makemytrip.com are also available, offering discounts on bookings done on those websites.

However, the best airline rewards are reserved for those who are loyal with an airline and fly frequently. The secret to getting maximum rewards on your airline reward credit card is to keep an eye on the special terms and conditions that affect the reward points or free miles. But finally it has to be kept in mind that it is still a credit card and it will always charge interest rates, incur annual fees and bring in a monthly bill at the end of every month. Therefore a wise decision, which judiciously balances the rewards and the expenditures, will always lead to a better airline reward credit card.
