Prevention against misuse:

The customer however has to be very careful while transacting with his cards. Prevention is always better than cure. It is his vigilance which can curtail the problem at the maximum.

When the customer gives out his card to the dealer for swiping he should keep a constant watch on the card and make it sure that it is returned immediately.

While at a shopping outlet, the customer has to assure that the card is not swiped twice before he signs the no transaction receipt. The customer should refrain from signing a blank transaction receipt.

Other than these, a person must never share his card details with anybody else. The card details should not be e-mailed.

Any change in contact details should immediately be reported to the concerned bank.

Any case of card theft or any doubt about the misuse of card needs to be brought into the notice of the bank immediately.
