Areas under which complaint can be filed to Banking Ombudsman
•One can lodge a complaint in regards to delay in processing a draft or cheque or any negotiable instrument.
•Delay in remittance facilities can also be complained against.
•Any delinquency in terms of working hours as set by the bank.
•In case the bank refuses to open a deposit account for the customer or blocks an existing one without valid reasons for doing the same, he can complain to the banking ombudsman against it. Similarly if a customer wants to close his account and it is not closed in time by the bank, he can lodge a complaint.
•If a bank does not adhere to RBI guidelines regarding any issue like interest rates and others, it can be complained against.
•In case a customer's home loan request is rejected without any proper reason for the same by the bank, he can complain to the Banking Ombudsman.
•A customer can reach out to Banking Ombudsman in case his loan is not sanctioned within the stipulated time.
•In case the bank levies some hidden fees and charges on the customer, it can be complained against.
