Canara Bank
Canara Bank was founded in the year 1906 as 'Canara Bank Hindu Permanent Fund' by late Sri. Ammembal Subba Rao Pai. It became Canara Bank Ltd in 1910 and after nationalization in the year 1969, acquired its present name of Canara Bank.

Several branches of the bank also operates on Sunday.

The eighties came to the bank as the decade of business diversification. It completed 100 years of operation in June 2006.

As on June 2010, the bank had added 057 branches spread across all geographical segments. The bank provides a wide array of alternative delivery channels that include over 2000 ATMs- one of the highest among nationalized banks- covering 732 centres, 2681 branches providing Internet and Mobile Banking (IMB) services and 2091 branches offering 'Anywhere Banking' services. Under advanced payment and settlement system, all branches of the Bank have been enabled to offer Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) and National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) facilities.
