South Indian bank offers a range of savings account designed to fulfill the needs of various segments of the society. The savings account category of the bank includes Regular savings, Privilege savings, Group Salary savings account, Junior savings, SARAL savings and Youth Plus savings.

Regular savings account can be opened in joint names of family members. Collection and credit facility is available for Cheques, Drafts, Interest warrants, Dividend Warrants etc. in Indian rupees and foreign currencies. Bank does not deduct income tax at source on the interest. Privilege savings account offers multiple advantages over the Regular savings account. Bank issues International ATM cum Debit Card and offers Payable at Par Cheques under this account. Group Salary savings account is for employees of various business / service enterprises. Under this account bank offers various facilities like free fund transfer, no minimum balance requirement, free global ATM cum Debit card without AMC charges, free any branch banking, etc. To impart savings habit among students bank has introduced a product called ‘SIB JUNIOR’. This product is a savings account exclusively for students. Students who have completed 12 years of age with an upper age limit of 23 years are eligible to open a SB account with any bank branch. Introduction from the Principal / Head Master / HOD & Photo Identity Card are required for opening such an account. Usual introduction is acceptable. Account can be opened with a minimum cash remittance of Rs 10/- but a minimum balance of Rs 150/- has to be maintained within a period of 3 months, etc. SARAL savings account is a No Frill account and can be opened with a minimum amount of Rs 10/-. 20 per half year withdrawals are allowed under this account. Youth Plus savings account has been exclusively designed for youth. Those who have attained an age of 20 to 35 years are eligible to open this account with a minimum balance of Rs 1,000/-. The features offered are free mobile banking service, free depository account opening, free for life International Credit card, etc.
