The largest bank in the country, State Bank of India is all set to start a 24-hour banking service in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Chief General Manager of SBI in a Lucknow branch, Shiv Kumar said, "We will offer round-the-clock banking facilities at a centre that will be set up at the main SBI branch in Hazratganj." The procedure to launch the new centre which will be named ‘Banking Plaza' is likely to commence from the beginning of next month, added the Manager. The Banking Plaza will offer products and services including internet banking, mutual funds and insurance services of SBI. This launch is aimed to reach out to the customers who are unable to avail the banking services due to their regular working hours that range between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Kumar said, "Once the Plaza is set up, customers need not bother about the fixed timings." The bank customers are currently enjoying 24-hour facility through the ATM network which is rapidly growing and crossed the 5000 mark. SBI has a customer base of over 60 million in the Uttar Pradesh region. |
