Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank has become the leader amongst all regional rural banks of the country in terms of profits earned in Q3 of this fiscal. The bank has been able to book net profit of Rs 121.88 crore, the highest in the list of all RRBs, said Chairman, Mr K. Preetam Lal. The achievement of the bank is backed by the growth that it reached in terms of business amounting to Rs 7,936 crore. The bank has also posted growth in deposit and loan book by as much as 21%. Lending to priority sector amounted to Rs 3,552 crore while that to agricultural domain stood at Rs 3,158 crore. Net NPA of the bank still continues at 'zero' though gross figures stood at 12.2%. The bank is also actively indulged in the financial inclusion drive of the government and has mapped out 554 villages that would be banked using the business correspondent model. In terms of branch network, the bank currently has 14 branches and plans to take the number to 28 this fiscal.
