The Reserve Bank of India has called a meeting with bankers in order to know how well equipped are banks so as to support the National Intelligence Grid (NatGrid). NatGrid is a project which has been proposed by the home ministry in order to formulate a database intelligence report to combat terrorism. The meeting is scheduled for October 1. Apart from this meeting, a separate meeting has been called by RBI on the same day so as to discuss the UIDAI project ‘Aadhar’. This meeting will also see Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of UIDAI. “Under NatGrid, 21 sets of databases will be networked to achieve quick, seamless and secure access to desired information for intelligence/enforcement agencies,” said home minister, P Chidambaram. |
