The state of Haryana so far had 1843 villages which were not yet touched by banking channels. All these villages fulfilled the criteria of having a population of 2000 and above as per the financial inclusion plan of the government. In this regard, the 'Service Area Approach' has put up commendable performance, for now 1055 of these villages have started receiving banking facilities. The figures were let out by State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC), Haryana's meeting. SLBC Chairman and Executive Director of PNB, Mr M V Tanksale informed that eight districts in the state have received Rural Self-Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) as on March 31, 2011.
