The board of directors of J&K Bank have selected three candidates for the post of CEO of the bank. The seat of the CEO is vacant after the sudden resignation of the earlier CEO, Haseeb A Drabu.

The first choice of the board is Mushtaq Ahmed, who is a former executive director of the bank. Ahmed brings with him around 35 years of banking experience.

The other two candidates are officers GA Peer and Tanveer Jehan. These two candidates are senior Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officers who were conferred IAS a few years ago.

“Given the situation, it is a good choice,” an executive of the bank said speaking about Mushtaq. “He has worked with Dr Drabu for many years and knows well how to manage the legacy.”
