Pallavan Grama Bank has set up its first eco friendly branch at Ammapettai in Erode district on Saturday. The branch would be operational under solar power having LED lights in it.

It was inaugurated by DRDA Project Officer Mr R Rethinasamy. It is the 96th branch of the bank jointly held by the Union Government and Tamil Nadu Government.

The branch is upgraded with core banking solution (CBS). The bank aims to start eco friendly ventures in more of its branches.

"The bank is planning to provide such green branch operations in five more remote branches in the next financial year", Pallavan Grama Bank Chairman Mr G Rangarajan said.
