The Reserve Bank of India, Guwahati has recently organised a financial outreach event in Sesawng village of Aizawl district in Mizoram. The event is a part of the second phase of financial inclusion plan of RBI.

The basic motive behind the camp was to make the people aware about financial products, services and schemes of banks, financial institutions and government organizations. The camp saw active participation by Mizoram Rural Bank, Mizoram Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd., KVIC, DRDA, DIC, NEDFi, NABARD, SIDBI, etc.

The event was attended by Executive Director of RBI, VS Das, Surekha Marandi, Regional Director of North Eastern States, Vanlalnghaka, Additional Secretary Finance, Banking Ombudsman of North Eastern States and other senior officials. VS Das was the chief guest of the event.

An interactive session was organised after the respective speeches by the guests where common queries were heard and answered. A quiz program was also conducted for school children to also make them financial literate.
