Private sector lender, Dhanlaxmi Bank has projected retail loans to constitute 30% of the total loan book this fiscal. The total loan book of the bank is expected to amount to Rs 90 billion of which Rs 30 billion would be contributed by retail loans. Rs 42 billion would be loans given to large corporates, said Amitabh Chaturvedi, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank. The retail banking segment consists of home loans, gold loans, mortgage instruments, education loans and auto loans. It is expected by the bank that the segment will grow to Rs 70 billion in the next fiscal. Chaturvedi said that the bank expects to lend 30% of the total loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in this financial year.
