In yet another case of ATM robbery, the police patrol team has arrested Zakir Munna Ali Shaikh (19) on Sunday while he was attempting to steal cash from an ATM of the Union Bank of India near the Khadki railway station. According to police officials, the area has two ATMs-one of Union Bank of India and the other by State Bank of India. Both banks have however not taken any step for security of these ATMs. The patrol car of the police noticed a man in the ATM counter at around 4 am trying to hide himself. The man had managed to remove the screws of the machine and was attempting to break the cash box when he was caught. A complaint has been registered against Shaikh under sections 457 and 380 read with 511 of the Indian Penal Code for attempt of theft. A similar case had happened in January when the police caught a final year BCA student and his uncle while they were trying to steal cash from SBI ATM of Khadki branch.
