New Delhi: Canara Bank, a major financial conglomerate on the Indian banking horizon has undergone an image makeover. Adopting a new brand identity, which is in sync with the long-standing close relationship between the bank, its customers, employees, investors, investors and the entire society, Canara Bank has decided on a new logo and colour profile.

Two seamlessly connected links, will now represent Canara Bank. Having rich blue and bright yellow colours, these links represent the bank's culture, insight and future strategy. The rich blue denotes stability, scale and depth, while the bright yellow represents optimism, warmth and energy.

The new brand identity was unveiled by the Finance Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram at a glittering function at the Central College Auditorium in Bangalore. Speaking on the occasion the Finance Minister praised the bank's role in country's growth and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Canara Bank presently serves over 31 million customers through a network of more than 2600 branches located all over India. The Bank also has its branches at three overseas locations namely HongKong, United Kingdom and Russia. Canara Bank, in tune with times is planning an expansion of its overseas branch network. It has applied to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for opening up 15 more branches parts of South-East Asia and other emerging economies. Canara Bank has already got RBI's nod to open 5 branches in Johannesburg, Frankfurt, Muscat, Manama and Qatar, which will become operational in due course of time.
