Infosys Technologies, the second largest software exporter in India is planning to take its mobile banking business further through its banking arm, Finacle. With the recent launch of this flagship banking product, Finacle Mobile banking 2.0, Infosys plans to generate bigger share of the market. Infy is of the opinion that there is there is an emerging surge in mobile banking technology both in India and other developed markets too. Using the new platform, customers are granted access to banking services via mobile SMS, GPRS, 3G and USSD-enabled handsets. "Today mobile is becoming an easy way to bank for Indians, and the efforts by government for financial inclusion in India will help us tap the growing opportunity. We are betting big on the mobile banking space in India," said Haragopal Mangipudi, global head of Finacle, Infosys Technologies. The platform has already been launched by Infy in two banks in US and in Europe. It is now in talks with Indian lenders to begin the process in India too.
