New Delhi: The customers of Sangli Bank, which was amalgamated with ICICI Bank last year will get upgraded products and services from the ICICI bank. ICICI Bank has asked the customers of the erstwhile Sangli Bank to file up a 'Product Upgrade Form' by March 20 and update their accounts.

A statement issued by ICICI Bank said, "All the customers of Sangli Bank who do not upgrade their account will have their accounts converted automatically to 'ICICI Bank No Frills" saving accounts. The ICICI Bank no frills account is a special account, which doesn't require any quarterly average balance to be maintained by the customer.

The customers having no-frills account of ICICI Bank get a free ICICI bank Visa Debit card, a free of cost 25 leaves chequebook every year, free of cost branch banking and free six ATM transactions per quarter. The no-frills account earns interest on a half-yearly basis. However, the internet banking and mobile banking facilities are not available to the no-frills account holder.

Sangli Bank, which was merged into ICICI Bank in April 2007 had around 190 branches spread around different urban and rural centers in Maharashtra. This merger has helped ICICI Bank extend its presence across these centers and now all the branches of Sangli Bank will function as ICICI Bank. The merger of Sangli Bank was conducted through an all stock deal where the, shareholders of Sangli Bank received 100 shares of ICICI Bank for every 925 held. ICICI Bank had to issue around 3.45 million fresh shares for the merger.
