Leading private sector lender, ICICI Bank launched a co-branded platinum credit card in association with the south-east Asian air-carrier Singapore Airlines in the Indian market. The card was launched on Tuesday, March 31st with the name ‘ICICI Bank Singapore Airlines Visa Platinum Card'. "This is the first time that we (Singapore Airlines) have launched a credit card in India. The synergy that is created by this partnership is unprecedented," said Lee Lik Hsin, Regional Vice-President (West Asia and Africa) of Singapore Airlines. On the other hand, Sachin Khendelwal, Head of Retail Assets Group at ICICI Bank, said: "We will be deepening our relationship with existing premium card holders and members of Singapore Airlines frequent flyer programme, KrisFlyer, to market this card." ICICI Bank is going to charge Rs 6,000 for this Visa Platinum card. The holders of this card would get complimentary membership to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Club and sliver-tier Hilton Honors Programme. Besides, the cardholders will earn reward points of 5,000 KrisFlyer miles when the card is used for the first time and 12 miles for every Rs 200 spent on the card. Also there are other benefits like 50% discount to golf courses across the airlines destinations and discounts on international duty-free shops that the cardholder can enjoy. Singapore Airlines, which carries more than10% to 15% of outbound traffic from India, plans to target on its own frequent flyer programme customers and the ICICI's premium credit cardholders. Mr hasin said the Airlines is positive that the card would bring matchless benefits to its customers and thereby enhance the demand of KrisFlyer programme in India. KrisFlyer is a programme by Singapore Airlines under which the members can redeem their miles for free flights on more than 20 international airlines to over 820 destinations across 160 countries. |
