Karnataka Bank issues Smart cards

Private sector lender, Karnataka Bank has introduced smart cards at Babbur in Chitradurga district. These cards have been launched as a part of the financial inclusion plan of the bank.

This card can be used for payments under different programs like NREGA and social security pension (SSP).

P Jayarama Bhat, managing director of the bank, discussed about the bank's involvement in the pilot project of the government for payments using smart cards using KBL-Empower Biometric, for social security pension (SSP) beneficiaries.

Range Gowda, CEO, zilla panchayath, B Ashok Hegde, GM of Karnataka Bank, V K Bhatt, chief manager, H C Rudraiah zonal officer and H P R Hande were present.
