The Kisan Credit Card is set to undergo some modifications. It may soon serve as an ATM card for the farmer; it would allow them to withdrawn money easily. The chairman of NABARD, Mr. Prakash Bakshi said, "A report of a similar pilot project in Tamil Nadu has been submitted to the central government. It would eventually dispense with 'business correspondent' who are entrusted disbursement of the money to KCC beneficiaries."
The new scheme may be implemented from the new fiscal year. The scheme will ensure swift availability of credit for the farmers. |
