Public sector units (PSUs) have been a powerful segment guiding the growth of Indian economy. In order to commemorate the contributions of PSUs the second India Pride Award organized by Dainik Bhaskar group focused on the contributions of PSUs.

The awards were given by finance minister, Pranab Mukherjee. The awards were classified in three categories namely central awards, state awards and special awards. There were two types of awards, gold and silver.

Appreciating the work of Dainik Bhaskar group, Mukherjee said, "Let me begin by complimenting the Dainik Bhaskar Group for having instituted this award last year as a tribute to the contributions made by the PSUs for building our country. I congratulate the award winning organisations, their chief executives and working forces."

SBI Chairman, O P Bhatt received the lifetime achievement award in the central award category. Bhatt lent his focus on financial inclusion as the prime need of the hour.
