ICICI Bank has launched a unique travel and lifestyle credit card. The ‘ICICI Bank Platinum Identity’ credit card is an upgradation over its earlier travel and lifestyle credit card called the ‘ICICI Bank Platinum’ credit card. This new card is targeted at the upper middle class population, as it offers solutions for the increasing demands of the growing number of customers. ICICI Bank had earlier come up with credit cards for travel and lifestyle separately, but this joint credit card is a completely new domain.

In the travel domain, the new credit card brings with it a variety of features such as an exclusive reward program including points on foreign spending and special benefits on travel like an air accident insurance to the tune of 1 crore Rs. and freedom from fuel surcharge, across all petrol pumps, anywhere in the country. In addition to this, it also offers an exclusive rewards catalogue. Earlier, ICICI Bank had come out with an ‘ICICI Bank Visa Signature’ credit card, which offered a Rs. 3 crore air accident insurance, but it did not address to the lifestyle domain, which the new card does.

Perhaps the most innovative feature included in the lifestyle domain of this card is the inclusion of a golf fee card with a two year membership and a priority pass. There has been an upgradation of the special concierge service, ‘i-Assist’, earlier used in the ‘Platinum’ credit card, which guides customers on travel and restaurant reservations, assisting them on arrangements for gifts, and special information about events, including information about tickets. The earlier service, being offered in the ‘Platinum’ card, did not refer to the abovementioned features. The bank has set the credit limit at Rs.2.5 lakh and above.

ICICI is not the only bank to have credit cards in the lifestyle domain. Banks like HSBC, HDFC, ABN AMRO, Standard Chartered and American Express offer their own versions of Platinum and Titanium cards.
