Rahul Soota to head Citi's retail banking segment in India

Citibank has appointed Rahul Soota as Head of Retail & Commercial Banking in India.

As Head of Retail and Commercial Banking, Soota will be responsible for Citi's Branch Banking and CitiGold Wealth Management, Mortgages and Suvidha businesses apart from the bank's commercial banking business which encompasses business, professional and small and mid market enterprise segments.

Prior to acquiring this post, Soota was acting as Managing Director of Citifinancial. During his tenor there he led a two year long remodelling and repositioning exercise in order to diversify the bank's sources of revenue across segments like peronal loans, mortgages and wealth management.

"Under Rahul's leadership, we will strengthen our focus on driving success for our clients by serving stronger value propositions," Citi's Global Consumer Group, Country Business Manager, N Rajashekaran, said.

The bank had recently appointed Ravi Kapoor as head of global banking operations in India.

Earlier the bank had appointed Pramit Jhaveri as its country head.
