Largest lenders of the country, State Bank of India and ICICI Bank are looking forward to the idea of outsourcing ATM management services. The deals if materialise would range to Rs 4,500 crore and Rs 1000 crore for the respective banks.

These banks are following the lead taken by small lenders and avoid the hassles of management of giant ATM networks.

SBI has asked for bids to manage its ATM network of 20,000 along with the fresh 5000 ATMs which it plans to add to its kitty by the end of this year.

As for ICICI Bank, it is said that the lender has shortlisted FSS and Die-bold to manage its 5,600 ATM network.

An ICICI Bank spokesperson said, "We continue to manage our ATM network and it has not been outsourced. We do keep receiving proposals from parties/vendors for outsourcing the management of our ATM network. However, currently we have not taken any decision to outsource."

So far, Axis Bank has decided to roll out outsourced ATMs.
