Syndicate Bank launches e-banking, ATM at Gandhipuram

Coimbatore: Syndicate Bank one of the stellar public sector bank has come a long way since 1925, when it was established in Udupi. The primary purpose of the bank was to provide financial assistance to the local weavers who were crippled by a crisis in the handloom industry through mobilizing small savings from the community. Since then it has not looked back and has been a frontrunner in adopting hi-tech initiatives to bring the best services to its customers. Taking another step in this direction the Syndicate-e-banking facility and an ATM was inaugurated at the Gandhipuram branch of the bank on Saturday at Coimbatore. 

It was in 2001 when the Syndicate Bank brought its first branch under the Core Banking Solution (CBS) at Bangalore. The centralized banking solution called 'Syndicate-e-banking' was initially introduced at four centers namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Manipal in 2002.

Since then the bank has successfully introduced the CBS and 'Syndicate-e-banking' across its network. All of the  2100 branches of Syndicate Bank are presently computerized and provide prompt service to its customers. Syndicate Bank has a ATM network of 456 machines installed across the country at strategic points.

Other technological initiatives like utility bill payments services through internet banking, online railway reservation of tickets and toll free voice mail system for redressal for grievances were also introduced by the bank in the last decade. The bank has also introduced online application facility for various loans, these loans will be processed from a centralized location and disbursed from a branch closest to the address provided by the applicant. An NRI Cell was opened in Ernakulam district of Kerala by Syndicate bank recently, this will provide a speedy and economical remittal service to the large section of NRIs belonging to this region.
