Travel reward credit card offer great discounts in India

New Delhi: Online spending on airline tickets, railway tickets, hotel bookings and other travel related activities have suddenly found favor with the credit card companies. With the e-commerce boom just around the corner and a major part of it expected to be spent on online travel related activities, credit card companies are busy in forging strategic tie-ups and formulating innovative reward schemes to grab their share.

If you travel frequently by trains, you could get as much as 5 percent cash back when you use HDFC Bank Gold Credit Card to buy tickets at the Indian Railway online booking website, www.irctc.co.in.

The largest online travel marketplace MakeMyTrip.com has partnered with ABN AMRO Bank to launch a co-branded credit card called 'GO'! The 'GO' credit card will offer as a reward 'GO Miles', which can be redeemed for any airline ticket, any destination or for stay at any hotel. And this is in addition to the special promotional discounts offered exclusively for the 'GO' credit card holders at www.makemytrip.com

Yatra, a leading online travel portal has tied up with Barclays launched a Yatra Barclaycard. This tie-up will greatly help the people who use Yatra.com to book tickets and buy other services as they will be showered with great discounts and offers.

Those who love Kingfisher Airlines and Airtel can get excellent rewards for using their services as these companies have tied up with the global credit card giant American Express to launch the `American Express Kingfisher First Credit Card`. This co-branded credit card boast of a world's leading membership rewards program with an industry best earn rate of 10 times reward points.

Many credit cards are offering a cash-back offer of as much as 50 percent on all online travel related bookings. Ezeego1.com, a leading online travel portal in India, has tied up with the ICICI Bank, to provide a flat 50% cash back on Platinum, Titanium and Signature credit cards. The ICICI Bank gold credit cards will get a cash back reward of 25% and other cards issued by ICICI bank, which include Silver credit cards will get a cash back of 15%. This huge offer is available only to Ezeego1.com customers who book their domestic air tickets on Jet Airways, IndiGo, JetLite and Indian before December 31, 2007.
