Bank manager arrested for fund misappropriation

A manager of State Bank of India in Namakkal near Salem in Tamil Nadu has been arrested on charges of misappropriation of funds worth Rs 45 lakhs.

The manager named Thangaraj was caught by the police while he was withdrawing money from an ATM.

The FIR of Thangaraj going missing was filed by his wife on February 18. Police said that SBI General Manager Gnanasambandham also filed a complaint against him for fleeing with Rs 45 lakhs.

The amount had been set aside by the bank for educational loan, farmers loan etc.
