Educomp Solutions has entered into a 50:50 joint venture with Singapore based, Raffles Education Corporation to launch Raffles Millennium International, an international design institute. With this, education continues to get boost with subsidies from government and new private players entering the sector. The move also marks Educomp's first foray into professional education. Shantanu Prakash, MD and CEO, Educomp Solutions, "In India, there is an acute shortage of Institutes that offer high quality, world class professional courses that prepare students for a career of their choice. The programme here will focus on niche, specialised areas in which required competencies are not available in India." The institute will offer an array of diploma and degree courses, which include fashion design, graphic design, product design, interior designing, multimedia design, in addition to fashion marketing, business management and tourism and hospitality management. With this, the institute comes to have three state-of-the-art campus facilities each in New Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai. Chew Hua Seng, CEO, Raffles Education Corp, said, "The new institution in India will allow us to tap into the over 657 million youth population in the country, the largest population of young people in the world. In the near future the group is also looking to expand its footprint in India through the establishment of more institutions in main cities."
