Punjab and Sind Bank targets 1000 recruitments this season

Public sector lender, Punjab and Sind Bank has aims of recruiting 1000 new employees this fiscal.

"We are going to have a second round of recruitment this year of about 1,000 personnel, including officers and specialist officers," Punjab & Sind Bank Executive Director P K Anand said.

The bank has just finished hiring 700 employees keeping in mind its branch expansion plans and vacancies arising due to superannuation.

The 1000 new employees to be hired would consist of 440 probationary officers (PO), 260 specialist officers and 300 clerks, he said.

The current work force of the bank amounts to 8000. The bank is also planning to come with an Initial Public Offer (IPO) by the end of 2010.
