The Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) are to follow the footsteps of the public sector banks. Now, a separate Common Written Exam (CWE) will be conducted for the recruitment of officers and staff at the banks.

The public sector banks, excluding State Bank of India have been recruiting candidates on various posts through the Common Written Exam (CWE). The exam is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

The procedure will be the same as it is for the public sector banks. IBPS will conduct exam and will declare the successful candidates. The RRBs, then can declare their individual cut-off scores and can call the shortlisted candidate to consider for further recruitment process.

The Secretary General of All-India RRB Employees Association, Mr. Dilip Kumar Mukherjee said "The 10-fold increase in volume of business coupled with large-scale retirement from 2012 to 2015 makes it imperative to jumpstart the recruitment process. There will be thousands of job openings in the RRBs in the coming few years."
