After Union Bank of India, its Vijaya bank's turn to launch mobile banking facility. The launch is scheduled for 29th of this month.

Albert Tauro, the bank's managing director, told the reporters that he is expecting 10,000 of its customers to get registered for the facility before the launch.

Talking about the expansion plans of the bank, he revealed that the bank would add another 89 branches to its network spread across the nation, by March 2010. The number of automated teller machines (ATM) would also be increased to 500 from 372.

Tauro disclosed that the bank registered an annual growth of 33% in jewel and education loans and 42% in agriculture loans. He also said that the bank recorded an annual growth of 17%in Current Account Savings Account (CASA) and aimed to increase it to 25% during this fiscal.

Regarding the quality of services being provided to the customers, he added that the bank had achieved 100 percent core banking facility.

Earlier this year, Tauro had revealed the bank's target to increase its business to 1.10 lakh crore by the end of this fiscal.
