Venkat Anatharaman would be joining back Standard Chartered Bank as head of corporate finance and advisory of the Indian operations of the bank, sources said.

Ananthraman has quit from his post in Credit Suisse Bank, the Swedish bank based in Zurich. He was working as senior coverage banker with Suisse.

He had left StanChart in the year 2006 to join Credit Suisse. He was working there as MD and head of investment banking for Indian operations till April. He quit after the bank appointed Vedika Bhandarkar to that post. Bhandarkar will join Credit Suisse this month from JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Anantharaman will be responsible for mergers and acquisitions and structured finance advisory in his new role, sources said.
