Leading public sector lender, Punjab National Bank recently introduced cash deposit machine in Jharkhand. The machine was installed at Argora branch of the bank.

PNB senior manager, Mr. Asutosh Prasad said, "The machine can accept up to 40 pieces of notes of any denomination at one time."

He also informed that the machine has a maximum one time intake capacity of Rs. 30,000. The facility is aimed at reducing crowd pressure at the branch.

"Automation may take up the work of employees but given the rush in bank branches every bit of automation is welcomed by the customers," a bank official said.
