The Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) can further witness a reduction if the liquidity condition continues to be tight. In the latest monetary policy review, CRR was reduced by 50 basis points.

The Deputy Governor of RBI, Mr. Subir Gokarn said, "To the extent that an opportunity is available for CRR (which is the percentage of deposits banks have to keep with the central bank,) cut further, we will also consider that."

Next monetary policy review is scheduled for March 15.
