The top slots of as many as eight public sector banks are going to fall vacant this fiscal owing to their chiefs. The government has thus shortlisted candidates for these slots. The banks which are to get new chiefs are Union Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Andhra Bank, Syndicate Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce and Bank of Maharashtra. It is likely that executive directors from different banks would be promoted as CMDs in these banks. The panel consists of members like Reserve Bank of India Deputy Governor Anand Sinha, Financial Services Secretary S K Sharma and former HDFC Bank chairman Jagdish Capoor.
