“The objective of the HDFC bank is not only the deposits but to offer all credit policies,” he said. He also assured the customers about the provision of latest banking services at the branch, saying, “The branch shall offer free online banking for the convenience of our customers.” He said the customers of the bank can pay direct taxes in HDFC branches or Online,” he said.

Krishnan was very optimistic about the future of HDFC and said that the net profit of the bank was growing at the rate of 35 per cent quarterly and with customers giving “us more business the profits shall keep on swelling.”

Krishnan also identified HDFC as a provider of employment opportunities to the people of Kashmir. He stated that the bank would generate huge employment in the state as there were talks of the bank planning to open more and more branches. He believes that by 2010, there will be 18 branches in Kashmir. After inaugurating the ATM facility of the bank, Branch Banking Head, North, HDFC Bank, Deeraj Rai said after every transaction the customers of the bank would receive a message on their mobile sets giving up-to-date information about their accounts.
