Private sector lender, HDFC Bank had set up a blood donation camp all over India on December 10, 2010. The camp received donors from almost 350 odd Indian cities across 475 centers. Donors included common genry along with bank executives. The bank had tied up with KEM Hospital, Indian Red Cross, TATA Memorial and J.J. Mahanagar Blood bank in Mumbai. The camp stands as the fourth such drive by the bank since 2007. The camp is an important part of the corporate social responsibility of the bank. In the very first year over 4000 units of blood was collected. Progressively in 2008 over 9000 units and in 2009 over 13,500 units were collected. This year they hope to collect more than 20,000 units.
