ICICI Bank has plans to increase its workforce this fiscal. According to a senior bank official, the bank is planning to hire 5000 to 7000 people this year. "We plan to hire around 5,000-7,000 people this fiscal. We have also declared bonus and increments for our employees," ICICI Bank's Managing Director and CEO, Chanda Kochhar said. Commenting on the bank's recent inauguration of its 2000th branch Ms Kochhar said that it is a big achievement for the bank as this makes it the first private sector bank to have such a huge distribution network in the country. She also said that the bank would be setting up more branches and ATMs in the country this fiscal. Speakling on the issue of the bank's foreign tag, she said, , "We are an Indian originated Bank, controlled by an Indian management and governed by the Reserve Bank of India. Nothing has changed in our ownership structure in the recent past, so we do not think there are any hitch in our expansion plans." |
