Bank managements are making many lapses in abiding by the guidelines set by Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Seeing this situation, the police has decided to bring out instructions as well as notices against the management of banks.

While carrying out investigations of fraud cases, the police saw that there was fault on the part of banks as well as they did not adhere to many of the RBI guidelines like verification of customer details, status of the properties mortgaged by customers for loans etc. Such carelessness on the part of banks has resulted in increased number of frauds.

DSP, economic offences wing (EOW) Baljeet Singh Chadha has said that those banks which have been identified as being irresponsible in their duties as per the RBI directives include both private as well as public ones and indicated that an advisory be set against them soon.
