Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance now in Guwahati

Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company has set up a new branch office in Guwahati. The office commenced the operation 1st June 2009.

The move is a part of group's strategic plans to increase the market penetration and expand the operation across India. The branch will be an operational and business hub for the company in the Northeastern region, where the customer demand for the company's products has shown an increase.

Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company, one of the leading insurance providers in India is a joint venture between the non-banking finance company, Sundaram Finance and the insurance provider, RSA. It is the first private licensed general insurance company in India.

The company has branches in over 150 cities across India and offers a wide range of general insurance products for retail and commercial clients, including SMEs and rural customers. Some of these are auto insurance, health insurance, personal accident insurance and travel insurance for retail clients and products like marine insurance, fire insurance, liability and business interruption risks insurance for the industry clients.

The AAA rated, Sundaram Finance is into diverse areas like vehicle financing, home mortgages, outsourcing, asset management, general insurance, IT solutions and distribution of financial products.

A leading multinational insurance company, RSA has presence in over 130 countries, with focus on general insurance. The net written premium of the company was GBP 6.5 bn as on 31st December 2008.
