SBI sets up its 9000th branch in Orissa

The largest lender of the country, State Bank of India has set up its 9000th branch in Orissa. The branch set is targetted to cater mainly to needs and requirements of the rural and semi urban customer base, said the bank.

Also the bank has established its 25000th ATM in Mumbai.

The branch as well as the ATM was inaugurated by the hands of the bank's erstwhile chairman, Mr O P Bhatt, who has superannuated last month.

The inauguration took place via video conferencing. Mr Bhatt said on the occasion that in the next five to six years, SBI will have an ATM count of 1 lakh.

The inauguration ceremony also felt the presence of Ms Shyamala Gopinath, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India.
