Sumit Jalan appointed as ECM head of Credit Suisse India

Swiss bank, Credit Suisse has appointed Sumit Jalan as head of its Indian equity capital market business.

Jalan was formerly working with Bank of America- Merrill Lynch.

Before being appointed by Credit Suisse, Jalan was director of ECM business at Bank of America- Merrill Lynch. This hire by the swiss bank is said to be a part of the expansion plans of the bank in India.

According to a spokesperson of the bank, Rahul Chawla, India head of global markets solutions group at Credit Suisse, has been looking after the bank's ECM business in India so far.

The bank recently got license to open its branch in India.
