Sundaram BNP Paribas Home Finance, a housing finance company mainly focused in the south has been able to book 40% rise in its loan book last fiscal. This report comes in the wake of the recovery path of the home loan segment. The company has recorded loan disbursements amounting to Rs 742.72 crore in 2009-10 as compared to Rs 531.95 crore in the previous year. The loan approvals of the company have also taken a step up by 52% to Rs. 914.8 crore. The company has posted a 6% rise in profit before tax amounting to Rs. 41.49 crore. The net profit has seen a rise to Rs. 27.72 crore. Gross non performing loans of the bank amounted to Rs 6.71 crore constituting 0.34% of the loan portfolio against 0.30% in the previous year. Sundaram BNP Paribas Home Finance MD, Srinivas Acharya said " Despite uncertainties on account of global economic situation, the company has been able to maintain a very strong and healthy loan portfolio. The business outlook for this year looks positive and the company is targeting a disbursement of Rs 1000 crore". It has a capital adequacy ratio of 18.7% higher than the statutory minimum requirement of 12%.
