West Bengal gets 10 more branches from Canara Bank

Public sector lender, Canara Bank has set up 10 new branches in West Bengal as part of its expansion cum financial inclusion drive.

Out of these ten, six branches have been set up in rural areas, the bank said.

The branches, located across five districts of the state, were inaugurated by Ms Archana. S. Bharghava, Executive Director, Canara Bank.

With the launch of these new branches, the branch count of the bank now stands at 3,297, of which, 840 are rural branches.

Apart from this, the lender has also unveiled 5 ATMs in the state coupled with 1 SME cell in Durgapur and a NRI cell in Kolkata.

The Canara Bank Institute of Information Technology has been launched at Berhampore in Murshidabad district.
