A manager of public sector lender, Allahabad Bank has been arrested by CBI for taking bribe from a client. The manager has been reported to have taken bribe worth Rs 51,000.

The accused is Nishikant, Manager (Law), Scale II in the Zonal Office of the bank. He was arrested by CBI after the client complained against him for demanding the sum of money illegally so as to process his bid of a plot auction at Jainagar, Dhanbad.

Currently, Allahabad Bank is in possession of the plot which it had acquired from a Dhanbad based private company after it failed to repay a loan from the bank.

"CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 51,000 from the complainant," CBI spokesperson said in a release.
