Housing finance lender, HDFC Ltd aims to take its home loan book to Rs 56000 crore by the end of this fiscal. The total loan amount disbursed will also include the Rs 200 crore loan which the bank gave out in Orissa this year. Speaking on the issue, Renu Sud Karnad, managing director, HDFC Ltd said, "Our pan-India loan disbursals will be close to Rs 56,000 crore by the end of this fiscal. Every year, we are growing at the rate of 20-22 per cent in terms of loan disbursals. In Orissa, our loan exposure will reach Rs 200 crore this year. We have already sanctioned housing loans worth Rs 1200 crore in Orissa ever since the beginning of our operations in the state in 1986." She added that the bank has disbursed loans to nearly 35 lakh homes across the country including 16000 in Orissa. Asked on the loan recovery position, she said, "Our NPA (Non-Performing Assets) stands at only 0.79 per cent. We have been hugely successful in recovering loans." The lender had organized a property fair in Orissa, the first of its kind in the country. Commenting on the property exhibition, Karnad said, "This is the first time that we are hosting a property show of this magnitude in Bhubaneswar and we are happy that all the reputed developers of this region are participating in it. This exhibition is an attempt to provide home seekers all the services required for property purchase under one roof so that they can come with their family, choose a home and tie up the funds for purchase of the homes."
