ICICI, country's largest private lender, has said that it would concentrate more on home loan segment as the realty sector recovers after the economic slowdown.

ICICI bank's Managing Director and CEO Chanda Kochhar said, "We are focussing on the home-loan segment at the moment as there is a lot of activity in this sector (home) ... people who stopped buying a few months ago, are back again,"

Other banks are also focusing more on the home loan segment. Leading banks have extended their home loan festive offers. ICICI has further intensified the competition by offering fixed rate of 8.25 percent in the first two years and floating rates thereafter.

The offer is valid between December 1, 2009 and January 31, 2010.

ICICI is also planning to raise funds for its overseas operations via five year dollar denominated senior unsecured notes through its Bahrain branch.
