PNB puts up its 5th branch in UK; 2 more to come up this fiscal

PNB, the second largest public sector bank has come up with its fifth branch in UK through its wholly owned subsidiary Punjab National Bank (International) Ltd.

The branch has been opened at Ilford, east London. The bank has plans to come up with two more branches this year.

The new branches would be opened in Wembley and Wolverhampton, said Punjab National Bank (PNB) Chairman and Managing Director K R Kamath.

The bank has a branch network of more than 5000 with 56 million customers and a total business of Rs 4.37 lakh crore.

Apart from having its presence all across the country, the bank has presence in nine countries including the UK, Hong Kong, the UAE (Dubai), China, Norway, Kazakhastan, Nepal, Bhutan and Afghanistan.

MD of Punjab National Bank (International) Ltd. Mr. S. R. Sharma said that bank's technology-based products like Chip & PIN-based debit card, Internet banking, competitive interest rates and customer-centric approach have enabled it in expanding its customer base and raise profits.
