Foreign lender Standard Chartered Bank has finally appointed Sandeep Das as its Head of private banking division of its Indian operations. Das's appointment was most likely for this post since some time now.

Das has had a 20 year experience of working with StanChart. He had joined the bank in the year 1991.

Prior to being appointed to his present post, he was Head of the Indian consumer banking business of the bank.

Foreign lenders in India like Barclays, Credit Suisse, and Standard Chartered as well as the domestic players are spearheading to increase their wealth management business in India.

This would come with recruitment opportunities for many bankers across different roles in the banking business.
